Sunday School

About Us

Dig In With Us This Year!

Join us this year in Sunday School as we dig-in to the stories of the Bible! We'll be talking about Epic stories from the Old and New Testament. Children will be dismissed to Sunday School during the Worship service, immediately following the children's Message. Join us as you're able. Worship bags are also available to young ones who whish to stay with their families during the service. Bags have various activities and can be picked up on the coat rack at the entrance to the sanctuary or ask any usher and they can get a bag for you.

Safe Church Policy

St. Paul’s UCC seeks to provide a safe and secure environment for the children and youth who participate in our programs and activities.  A Safe Church Policy has been implemented to protect children, volunteers and staff while giving parents peace of mind.  Per our policy and in compliance with state law, all volunteers and staff who work with children have been cleared and their background checks are secured in the church office.

You can view our Safe Church policy and find all relevant forms under the “About Us” tab

Our Sponsor Child: Myrah

The first Sunday School offering of each month is used to support Mayrah, our sponsor child from Brazil. Our donations help her to attend school and receive medical care.

Youth

The Lindenmoyer Scholarship Fund

The Lindenmoyer Scholarship Fund was established to recognize the Lindenmoyer Family, long-time members of St. Paul’s UCC, Northampton and life-long advocates for education.

Woodrow “Woody” Lindenmoyer was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp working in the Engineering plant for 27 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member and Elder Emeritus of St. Paul’s. He was a Consistory Elder (1962-1985), Consistory President (1984), and Deacon (1955-1988). He was Chairman of the 50 th and 75 th Anniversary Committees and a member and treasurer of the Renovation Committee to build the parsonage in 1969. In addition, he was Advisor to the Youth Fellowship of the church (1948-1951), Manager of the baseball team for four years, and a Pulpit Committee Member (1983)

He was a member of the Northampton Area School Board (1959-1983), Vo-Tech and Intermediate Unit 20 (1968). He served on the Board of Big Brother/Big Sister (1975-1982) and the Northampton Memorial Community Center. He also served on the Northampton Boro Recreation Commission for five years and was a manager of the Northampton Athletic Association Little League for two years.

Harriet Lindenmoyer was a homemaker and life-long member of St. Paul’s UCC. She taught Sunday School for over 24 years in the Junior Department. She was the first Girl Scout Leader at St. Paul’s.

Mr. and Mrs. Lindenmoyer were married for 55 years and had a son, James. James “Jimmy” Lindenmoyer was a graduate of Northampton Area High School. He was a sports writer for the Blue Mountain Gazette and the Northampton Press. In 2011, he was elected into the Northampton High School Athletic Hall of Fame as a contributor/historian. His lifelong love of Northampton Sports led Jim and his dad, Woody to compile a historical compendium of Northampton HS Athletic statistics, leading to his nickname, “Mr. Star.”

We give thanks for the Lindenmoyer family for the love and service they gave to St. Paul’s. Church throughout their lifetime and for their generous bequest that established and provides for this scholarship fund that supports their passion for education.

"Just In Case" Worship Service

Join us for a special worship service Friday, January 23, at St. Peter's UCC. Both congregations of St. Peter's and St. Paul's will be participating. Service begins at 7:00PM. Pastor Joel will preach and Ellen Erb will lead the music. We are having this service called "Just In Case", just in case the weather forecast for this Sunday is correct and the snow falls. All are welcome.
