Wooster is located in the heart of Ohio's Amish and Mennonite communities. During the week we will participate in a variety of volunteer projects and educational activities. Click HERE to sign up online or sign up on the Mission table by the stairs!
Volunteer Projects: We will begin each morning by serving breakfast to the homeless at our host location. Each day following breakfast, we will work with one of several community organizations including People to People Ministries (a local food pantry), Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Community Gardens, Every Women’s House (Domestic Violence Shelter, Advocacy and Education Center), Friendship Meals, and the Wilderness Center.
Educational Activities: Educational programs will be offered during the week for those wishing to become more aware of the challenges the community faces including addiction, poverty, mental health networks, homelessness, and environmental issues. Wooster is located in the heart of Ohio’s Amish and Mennonite communities, which we will also learn more about while we are there.
Date: Sunday, June 23rd through Saturday June 29th. Sunday the 23rd will be mostly traveling to the destination. We will meet at the Church briefly beforehand and leave together. Saturday June 29th we will depart Wooster and head home!
Minimum Age: 13 years old (If child is younger and parent is planning to attend, please speak with Mindy).
Accommodations: Bunk beds (4 rooms of 6 bunks). You will need to bring your own bedding.
Cost: $200 per person includes lodging, daily breakfasts and packed lunch and 2 evening meals. Fundraisers will be happening throughout the year to help offset these costs, keep an eye on this page!
